Our general workforce data is for entire labor market or geographical area, while our industry specific analysis relates to an industry. We provide data about any industry, for example, retail, biotech, financial and more. In addition, as per your customized specifications, we can provide data about an industry or industry cluster for any location in the U.S.
Our analysis uses U.S. Department of Labor's Bureau of Labor Statistics, U.S. Department of Labor's and Employment Training Administration, and private business count data. The data is based on the North American Classification System (NAICS), Standard Occupation Classification (SOC), and Occupational Information Network (O*NET®) system.
Our deeper workforce analysis includes drilling down industry- by-industry and providing more comprehensive information about local industry, employment, and skill patterns. Our data tells you what you need to know for making more informed business decisions.
Occupation Employment: This dataset includes the number and percent employed in each occupation within an area. And, it also includes the Workforce Occupation Index™, which indicates each occupation's concentration when compared to the U.S. figures. This data is for 750 occupations that make up any geographical workforce. This daytime population data is invaluable for making business-to-business decision from marketing analysis, site selection and recruitment - to economic and workforce development strategies.
Industry Employment and Business Count: This business count database includes more than 15 million business in the U.S. The dataset includes the number of establishments, the number and percent of employees, as well as our Industry Employment Index™, which compares industry employment concentration to the U.S. This data is available for any industry down to the 6-digit NAICS. The granularity of this data allows you to look deeper into business and employment patterns in an area.
Geo-Skill Analysis™: Workforce Strategies also provides a new physical and geographical characteristic: the skill demographic. Our first-of-its-kind analysis of workforce skills describes an additional attribute of a geographical area and a local workforce that supplements and enhances all other available employment data and content.
Geo-Skills™ Data: This dataset includes the portion of the workforce where each skill is significant to local job performance and the Geo-Skills Index™ (GSI), which compares each skill's concentration to the figures for the U.S.
Our analysis also includes a workforce preparation rating by geography. Workforce preparation is based on overall education, training, and experience. Each skill and workforce preparation is also indexed, indicating its concentration when compared to the nation. The skills and workforce preparation are defined in O*NET® system.
About Geo-Skills™: There are 35 foundational skills in the workplace that fall within seven major skill categories. Given a geographical area’s industry employment, the composite of these skills is used in local workplaces, Our Geo-Skill Analysis™ looks at this composite: those skills that are used at all times to meet the production needs of local employers and the economic base and which are continually used in local workplaces and industries to generate revenue, account for payroll, etc. Our Geo-Skill™ findings are based on the employment structure within an area’s economy and labor market.
