Each report also includes workforce preparation which is based on overall employee experience, education, and job training; employment for 22 broad occupational categories such as management, engineering, health care, and production; and county level wage and poverty figures. These reports indicate the significance of each skill in the local workforce and includes the portion, employment number and percent of the workforce where that skill is significant to local job performance and workplaces. The Geo-Skills Index™(GSI) compares each skill's employment concentration to the figures for the U.S. Values are included for each of the skills and the seven major skill categories.
The seven major skill categories are: Basic, Technical, Social, Complex Problem Solving, Process, and Systems Skills. They are included in the six Geo-Skill™ reports. (The Labor Market Summary shows 2007 employment figures for each major skill category for any location in the U.S.)
The Industry Workforce Profile shows the ten top skills for a specified industry and are listed in the order of their significance to that industry's workplaces.
